Featured Project: Park Avenue New York, NY
Phillip often helps clients find their next home, as with this two-bedroom penthouse in a Park Avenue pre-war building for a couple downsizing from a six-story townhouse. A fortuitous surprise was revealed during the renovation: a glass ceiling that for years had been covered by sheetrock. Phillip seized the opportunity to flood more light into the space while simultaneously creating an interesting architectural detail. Many of the furnishings – four decades worth, meticulously cataloged — came from their previous home, and are now ensconced in rooms that may be swathed in high gloss paint or, in the case of the entry, cocooned in a deGournay wallpaper inspired by the client’s collection of Japanese woodblocks.
