Phillip gave new purpose to mid-century horse stables that existed on the client’s property to create a space to be used for celebrations. He salvaged existing elements and, working alongside local artisans, used them in new ways including taking the wood from the paddock doors and converting it to the vanity for the powder room. Phillip’s aim was to infuse the space with a sense of joy to enhance the festivity of the multi-generational family gatherings that would take place here – hence the larger-than-life images of heritage chickens and roosters, shot by a local photographer.
