UPPER EAST SIDE
NEW YORK, NY
This Upper East Side apartment in pre-war building was the new home of previous clients who needed more space to accommodate their growing family, including a dog. The existing floor plan remained largely intact but rooms were reconfigured, with a theme, Phillip recalls, of “glam meets gracious with a wink.” Many of the client’s existing pieces were reimagined for this apartment, creating environments for a variety of entertaining styles for both adults and children. Phillip’s trademark super-saturated tones are found throughout, his love of pattern is expressed in custom-painted cross-hatch pattern he commissioned for the living room, as well as fabrics, wallpapers, and even an intricately designed wooden inlay pattern gracing the gallery floor. The result is pure Phillip: a spirited yet cohesive dialogue between color, texture and pattern.
